The HDICT project

The idea of HDICT has come from a very succesful project called EDICT , a freeware Japanese-English electronic dictionary file, coordinated by James William Breen. It should be something almost the same, a freeware Japanese-Hungarian electronic dictionary file. But let me tell you a little more first...

What is HDICT, then?

Download HDICT (11,319 entries, 193,859 bytes)

Very rough, almost raw data. It's going to change very soon; it's only here to prove that I'm not lying. Kana readings are still missing; only Shift-JIS coded words, English yomikata and Hungarian (Windows ANSI) meanings.

Download HNAMDICT (114,438 entries, 847,728 bytes)

HNAMDICT is the same as ENAMDICT except it is Shift-JIS (and not EUC-) coded and the abbreviations are translated into Hungarian.
