Home page of Szabolcs Varga

(aka Shirokuma Saburo)

I am a Hungarian computer engineer, at the moment doing my master's in Japanese Linguistics at Shinshuu University, in Matsumoto, Japan. This probably tells you enough what a distorted mind I may have but if you are interested in more, here's a little more detailed autobiography of mine.

This home page is courtesy of Gyula Szokoly. I owe him a lot more for this than he actually may think.

I don't want to create too fancy Web-pages; here you can find only text and dowloadable documents or programs. Some of these are in Hungarian, some in English, some in Japanese, so every place I mark the language of the document with (H), (E) and (J), respectively. I'd like to have this site to become completely bilingual but for a while it will be English only. As this site is still under development, please, have patience -- there's some more coming. I'm also always looking forward to recommendations.

So, here you can find the following things:

1. My diary (H) and some other funny texts (E, H) relating to the life in Japan

2. Literature -- committed by me (E, H)

3. Literature -- excerpts from Japanese novels and their translations (J, E, H)

4. Literature -- works of Károly Norman (E, H, J)

5. My kanji practice software Kanji Tutor (E, H)

6. The HDICT project (text E, data H)

I am always happy to read your E-mail with suggestions, bug reports, documents, or any piece of information you want to share with me.
